Daylight in Helsinki
I was also inspired by the lack of daylight in winter, which I experienced after moving to Helsinki. The work is based on data gathered from open sources and it represents hours of daylight in Helsinki in 2014. The workflow was based on the analysis of data and code writing. Therefore resulting in 365 coloured circles, each one precisely representing the amount of light for each day. The posters are to be interpreted by the viewer, however, the project was accomplished with an interactive version in which the viewer can compare the amount of daylight for three different cities; Helsinki, Melbourne and Mumbai. An important difference between the cities is latitude, which is reflected by differently coloured circles.
